Post subject: | possible sensitive subject - Club National Cemetery page? |
Has the idea of forming a national cemetery page for deceased club members ever been discussed? I know this may be a somewhat sensitive subject as we are a gaming club and maybe matters of life/death need to remain outside the club. However, I also know that over the years we have had many good men in our ranks that have passed on. In my opinion, it is a shame that some of them become forgotten over time. Of course, they are not forgotten by their families and loved ones. A club National Cemetery page would remind those of us still in the club of the officers and contributors before us who helped build the club to where it is today. Therefore, my suggestion is we look into establishing a club web page that recognizes former members who have passed so we can continue to honor them from time to time. Thoughts? Regards, |

It's not a bad idea. The AotC has a page in memory of one of our old friends who passed away in 2007... http://www.arbarlow.webspace.virginmedi ... moriam.htm |

I would be in favor of a Hall of Fame for former players. In Cooperstown they don't call it the 'Baseball Cemetery" - but its a place for preserving memories. |

I think it is an excellent idea. The frat I belonged to in school has a "Chapter Celestial" for members who have gone on. I can see us setting up a webpage for something like the "Corps Celestial". Just a thought. Deano |

General Martin <salute> Deano, my compliments! I find it to be a grand idea and would offer my support to such an effort. I believe it would be a logistical challenge in many instances, however it might be something that can be worked on over time. I offer you should submit a proposal to the cabinet, and we'll see what can be done from there. Highest regards, |

Brig Gen. David Marten submitted this proposal to the cabinet and it has been placed in the queue for further consideration by the cabinet. |

Thank you sir, I haven't found time to submit a formal proposal yet. One suggestion I was going to make was to give members to the ability to either "opt in" or "opt out". Regards |
