Ah, that brings back memories! My Dad had a record album of Johnny Horton's, and that song was on it. As a young lad, I used to listen to that record for hours on end.

Gentlemen, General Hecht and I just completed a grueling battle, deep in the Ozark mountains (09 Prairie Grove_H0500h, with weather variant). Both sides bit, scratched, and clawed for a victory, but the battle ended in a Draw. My hat is off to General Hecht, and the next round here in the Tavern is on me in honor of this fine opponent! |
