I've seen many of you gentlemen mention the old Avalon Hill table top war games. Any of you gentlemen still have any or collect? This is my humble collection.

Warhorse.

I would need to spend some several hours getting my old and treasured board games stored in my attic out and arrayed for a picture. On the other hand, I will simply say that game collecting can be addictive and the abuse problem that started for me in 1964 has continued unabated and I now own all the JTS ACW and NAP titles. Oh but to live to be 300 hundred years old and to have played them all but once.

Do you want to add to your collection of board games? I could make you an attic wide offer??

My friend and I played many a game of Devil's Den before moving on to Yaquinto's Battles and Leaders.
If Chickamauga is the one we played with the command point system governing unit commitment it was one of the best ACW systems for producing the historical ebb and flow of battles. You could not attack every turn as you needed command points to activate units and you had to save them up to launch a major attack.

At one time I had over 100 boardgames, after I got into pc games I reduced my collection to a dozen or so. a couple favorites and a few monster games.
Now my pc game collection is approaching the century mark and adding several thousand 25mm Napoleonic figures, several hundred Bolt Action WWII figures and a few other miniatures from other eras and the terrain and I've got a lot of space tied up in the attic as well as my 6'x8' basement table to play on. Fortunately the wife has been very understanding of my weekly gaming and several trips a year to conventions over the past 40 years . She's even gone on a couple trips with me.

Unfortunately my main gaming opponent of the past 40 years will be moving away in a few months. He has been downsizing his collection of boardgames before moving to his summer place which is considerably smaller. I took a couple games off his hands, 'A Gleam of Bayonets' and 'Stonewall Jackson's Way' for copies of the rules so I can try them on ADCII.

I used to be a board wargame addict and collected a bunch of games, most of which I never played. Lost my best boardgame friend back in'86 and it's never been the same. Looked at Vasl, but if you are going to play opponents using the internet, digital games are so much better. Haven't found anything to top HPS games yet.
