I was returning from a trip this afternoon, passing through The Wilderness battlefield. I had a few minutes and stopped at the Exhibit Shelter. General Kunz has suggested that club members might be interested in photos from the plentiful battlefields near my home in Fredericksburg. Photography is an old hobby that has slipped away, but I might dig out a couple of cameras and start snapping a few pics to share if indeed the club is interested. This one, of Saunders Field, was taken with my phone. The view is from the vicinity of the vicinity of the Union V Corps line looking toward Ewell's approach (from the west) at the start of the battle on 5 May. ![]() Modern Route 20 is located along the old Orange Turnpike |

Nice Mike! Thanks for sharing and yes folks are interested for sure! (Myself one of them) Been several years since I was at the Wilderness battlefield. Made it to Spotsylvania, Bull Run & Ball's Bluff last year. Have done all of the big Northern VA ones, except for Fredericksburg actually. |

Any of you gentlemen read, "Confederates In The Attic"? If you have, this sounds a lot like Anthony Horwitz version of "Power Touring"...only with booze! |

I did, yes. If your not familiar with the Overdrive app, if you have a library card, you can check out audio and ebooks for 21 days. I listened to it this way. |

Fld. Lt. Terhune, Sir! <salute> Mike, Since you live near Fredericksburg, would you interested in playing the historic Fredericksburg battle? So far, that is a battle I haven't tried yet and would be willing to give it a go. Post a reply or send me a message if you're interested. |
