As much as I love John Wayne casting him as Sherman was almost as bad as casting him as Genghis Khan (yes, that happened). Harry Morgan and John Wayne as Grant and Sherman in How the West Was Won. But who would play a good Sherman? Richard Widmark pops to mind as he was good at characters who were a bit unstable with a violent, insecure, side. ![]() |
