Post subject: | Department of Communications |
Fellow Members, I wish to form a Department of Communications, which would be mandated and overseen by the Cabinet to provide a monthly post at the MDT about the goings on in the Club. The Department would be headed by an Editor/Publisher and would have volunteer Reporters/Correspondents providing input and press secretaries for each side. The reporters/correspondents could be assigned particular tourneys to review, info about changes in the Armies, new members, promotion, reviews, interviews, etc. An OBD points budget would be provided to the Department and allotted to those that contribute. If you are interested in participating please send us acwgc@wargame.ch your thoughts, ideas and any level of interest so that we can get this going. I think that this would be a valuable addition to the club. Best Regards, General Pierre D. CSA Reserve Corps President, ACWGC |

Gentlemen, Support and suggestions are welcome; Signal Corps sounds appropriate and could be a possible name in the final setup. A couple of volunteers have come forward. We need more encouragement to get this off the ground, so don't be shy. The level of participation is up to you with no preset commitments. It will probably be more interesting as it develops and certain functions are laid out. For example I foresee a person just contributing a report on a battle or a tourney. We will see. Fellow Members, It appears that we have a momentum to get things organized and move this forward. General Hamilton and Col Lynn are working to formalize a basic monthly information packet that will provide information as to what is going on in the club. If you have specific areas in the Club that you would like to see info on, please let them know. It would be important to know what interests you so that it can have a place in the monthly report. The monthly report will be kept simple in order to ensure it's continuance. Additional articles and reports will be based on the input of fellow members. Those who indicated an interest to participate will be contacted to develop projects of interest. Contribution at any level are welcome. Best Regards, General Pierre D. CSA Reserve Corps President, ACWGC |

Fellow Members, The Cabinet and the CSA side of the Club has indicated much support and contribution to this endeavor. Are there any USA Members willing to participate. You would not want all the propaganda coming only from the South would you? Best Regards, General Pierre D. CSA Reserve Corps President, ACWGC |

I will have to discuss the matter with the Gens Walter and Tomlin, but it strikes me that a regular contribution from the War College would be in order. In that role I would be happy to be part of this endeavour. Would still like it to be "Signals Corps" [:D] <center>Maj Gen Mike Kaulbars Signals Officer Bureau of Military Information Union Army War College ![]() ![]() <center><font size="4"><i>"Intel gives us the edge..."</i></font id="size4"> ![]() |

Maj Gen Mike Kaulbars, Good idea for the name. I like it but contact the following people with your suggestion, General Hamilton who is the Editor in Chief and or Col. Lynn who is the Managing Editor. They are putting things together. The CoA's have contributed OBD points from their monthly allotment to the Dept to get the ball rolling as the Cabinet determines the final OBD bufget. The CoA's will be contacting the appropriate people to have them forward copies of reports to the Department so that the information can be edited and posted. Thanks to all for their support. Best Regards, General Pierre D. CSA Reserve Corps President, ACWGC |

I also like the Signal Corps title, but wonder that since the department is a non-partisan entity created for the impartial dissemination of club-related news and statistics, if it should have a non-militaristic name so as to avoid any confusion that we represent both the good side and the Yankees equally?
