Just a note to say it's been a pleasure to serve the Club as a CSA Cabinet rep for the past 4+ years. It was time to depart the political scene and, as stated previously, I know Gen. Carroll will do an outstanding job. I'd like to thank all the Cabinet Members I've had the good fortune to work with... Secretaries, CoA's and Pierre. Thanks also to those others of you who have supported, questioned, challenged and commiserated (at times).

Now it's back to brigade. The Congaree Swamp Rifles have turned into a lawless group in my absence. Good luck and good gaming to all in 2006.

General McBride,

If you do half the job with those Swamp Rifles as you've done for the club in your Cabinet position, the Yanks will have their hands full.

Modesty prevented you from mentioning that you also stepped up and served as Interim CSA CoA for several months at the beginning of '04, holding things together while new elections were held.

I salute you, sir!

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Sir I would like to add my own personal thanks for what you have done for the CSA over the last few years and beyond.

Through all the problems of last year and Generals Jim disappearance, you were a stabilising influence and for that alone the CSA owes you a huge debt and a huge vote of thanks, IMHO whatever the highest award is within the CSA, Sir you deserve it.
Gen D.W are you still here[:D]???

Den will you please be as good as to share a drink or two with me[xx(].

Thanks gentlemen. While I'm reportedly not choosy about who I'll share a drink with, I'd be particularly pleased to tip a few with the likes of you.

I am loath to close. We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.
