Ok, Gentlemen I found out what was causing all the grief with the Battleground Games. From the age of the old thread it shows you how long it took me to find it. The final answer or correction is to be found in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=555067[url][/url] What it boils down to was a corrupt registry setting that would only prevent setup.exe files from working. You had to disable system restore and do a special procedure in the registry to fix it up. Always a little scary for me. But it has a happy ending and I can now play Battlegrounds again and some old "Ancients" favourites from I-Magic which also were not working. M-m-m-h! I wonder if HPS will ever do an "Ancient" battles game using the present engine. Missile phase, melee phase etc.... Anyway, thank you gentlemen for all of your help and I hope this never happens to you. |
