"Confound it man! Who ordered that artillery to
unlimber in the town?????"

Rodes had taken the hill, Culps. Now as he surveyed
the ground in front of him he saw the forming lines of
blue, probably Slocum. It would be a fight to hold
there, but many many grey-clad troops were pushing to
consolidate the Hill. If I could just get a few guns
up here, he thought........

As Anderson arrived, he saw a much-confused Union army
in his front. Quickly seizing upon an opportunity, he
put his best brigade in line and advanced on the
wavering blue troops. He had more than a few trapped
up against the town itself, and these would soon be
prisoner. A row on Union guns on a low ridge to the
south was a bit more ominous, but perhaps Early could
enfilade those.......
