Gents,
After many years of service at all levels of our Club and Army, General Zuelsdorff has requested reassignment to a brigade command. I think his words were something like - "Get me somplace where thumping the Rebs is my main job!".[:D] Something like that! General Z was my Army Commander at the AoP when I joined the Club, so you know he's been around! Don't call him old, though, but if you do, you need to SHOUT it, he's a bit hard of hearing these days...[:D]
I am happy to announce the Lt General Don Golen will be taking over as Western Theater Commander effective 1 October. I have known Don for most if not all of my time in the Club, and I'm excited to have his help on the Union Command team going forward. Don has commanded at the Corps and Army level, and is also the Assistant Commandant at the War College, a job he'll be retaining.
General Zuelsdorff will be reassigned to his old Army, the AoP - at his suggestion. I'll leave it to General Z and Gen Bangma to work out his assignment.
General Z, thanks for all of your hard work and passion! Get out there and win a few battles for our side![8D]
