Let this not to be confused with the Fredericksburg contest that I offered Lt.Gen. Ned Simms. That contest is strickly centered at Fredericksburg.

The scenario titled "Fredericksburg to the Wilderness, Lee -vs- Grant" may still be changed to "the Battle of Spotsylvania County" The scenario will probably be a three to four day battle (probably three) and will involve almost 200 thousand troops. It's of course a "what if" design that still takes place in early May of 1864. Here grant decides not to cross the Rapidan but decides to recross the Rappahannick River in the footsteps of Burnside. Grant's mision is to sweep the county free of rebs and of course to seek out and destroy Lee. Lee on the other hand, is camped near Locust Grove when he receives word of Grant's advance. Lee with an army almost equal in size of Grants heads east to meet Grant.....

Author's Note: I love the Lee -vs- Grant Battles and wish there were more of them. The Fredericksburg maps as found in the Tom Hicks and Pete Seigel scenarios are just great and it's a shame they aren't recognized more. The map I'm using extends from east of Fredericksburg across the Rappahannick to the west of the Wilderness. It's a great map for battle. The scenario is simple, yanks enter from the east side of the map and the rebs enter from the left. A few objectives thrown in and may the armies meet somewhere in the middle....perhaps?

So now you have it. If your a Lee and Grant fan, this is the battle.....
