Rebels, malefactors, greycoats and traitors! Do any of you have the courage to try to drive us from before the city of Richmond? Our army has advanced to the very gates of your city! If you fail, we shall sieze your city, and crush your pathetic rebellion! Three fine Union Officers stand before you... not only myself but also Lt. Gen Walter and Lt. Mike Cox. Are there three Rebel officers who are willing to take up our challenge? Fair Oaks/Seven Pines i (everyone is released by 8:00 in the morn, reduced movement). As we have two experienced officers, and one right out of West Point, it would be good if you could model that sort of team as well [:D] All rules on except: Optional Fire/Melee, Quality Melee and Rout Limiting. Will play either phased or unphased play. Brig. General Gary McClellan 1st Division, XXIII Corps AoO,USA |

[:p] Seriously, phased play is preferred, but we realize that MP games are generally considered to be more rewarding if every player can conduct his own fire and melee, and that is possible with phased play only at the cost of massively increased file exchanges. Rebel? malefactor? traitor? Those are fighting words Gary! If you can stomach another Peninsula Battle with me I will join the "rebel" side in this one. I prefer turns but I have been meaning to try an HPS phases game PBEM, so why not now. General Walter, you and I have never faced off before. I have played Lt. Cox at Sicily in a different era. regards, Brig Gen Jim Pfluecke II/III AotM |

Ah, one courageous Reb! Thank you, general! So where are the one or two others that we need to make this worthwhile? C'mon, don't be shy ... this is your chance. You outnumber us in this battle. [8D] Gen. Walter, USA AoS / War College |

It must be the bright shine on these new Lieutenant's bars that are simply blinding the rebs into fear and submission. And yes, I did hoe a tough row against BG Pfluecke in Sicily and came up a measure short. Now there must be a third reb out to pad his score vs two kindly elder statesmen of the ACWGC and their lil' ol understudy - me? 1st Lt. M. So far (if rank is any indication) we're pretty evenly matched ... the Rebs are offering a Lt. Gen. to our Gen. and a Brig. Gen. to our Brig. Gen., so I think a Reb captain to our 1st Lt. would complete our merry battlefield reunion. [;)] Gen. Walter, USA AoS / War College |

General Walters, Sir, The Rebs may have numbers on their side if you include militia, but we have many artillery pieces that were old when the colonials first took up arms against King George and, at a glance, it appears that yanks may have an advantage of unit and leader quality. All in all, a pretty fair fight! Of course, we Rebs tend to attack regardless of the odds! Gen Hunt, I have not met you before. I shall send you an email in the next 24 hours. regards, Brig Gen Jim P. II/III AotM |

I am so looking forward to starting this fight ... Now where is this young, courageous, imaginative Reb Flight Lieutenant, I am sorry, Filed Lieutenant, or Captain, &c., who isn't afraid to take the field against the cream of the Union armies, under the charge of a veritable descendent, or at any rate blood relative, of Little Mac himveryself? Step forward and don't fear, for General Hunt is with you. (Not Henry H., I hope, unless he's deserted us for the attractions of Richmond, is it the ladyfolk in that doomed but vibrating city, maybe? But then what about Malvern Hill?) And General Pfluecke, of course, I am sorry. Anyway, here's your chance, young lad, to eternal glory, hurrah! [8D] Gen. Walter, USA AoS / War College |

Commanders, If you have someone fall through, I might be interested (I assume you are playing Campaign Pen--I have not installed it so unsure, but have the game), unfortunately I have little experience in the HPS system (have yet to complete one game in the system yet), so I could only play like a fresh LT., rather than actually be one. Looks like we are three v three... Walter, McClellan, Cox v Pfluecke, Hunt, and Laabs. I'll wait for instruction from one of my senior officers, but I am looking for ward to the game and making acquaintance of Msrs Hunt & Laabs. Until then I'll be taking my gin in my tent. Filthy habit I know... 1st Lt. M. Cox 1st/3rd/VII AoS ![]() |
