Eutaw Springs - Dawn. The British special forces were holding a hedgehog (or was that groundhog) position when a troop of Rangers came running down the road. They split into two groups which my special forces tried to block. Our cavalry unit got shattered and some of our left. Meanwhile, there was a standoff between the British right and American left. They glared at each other over their gunsights. What the Americans didnt know was that the British had a flanking party of old ladies from the Grenadiers that were carrying their new purses loaded down with weights from the gym! They hit the American far left and crumpled it. Meanwhile, the American cavalry had to fuel up and decided to use the BP station in the Brit rear. Now a patrol of the 8th Hussars had been ordered to hold that post at all costs but hearing that a new pub had opened they had taken to their heels leaving the pumps unguarded. The cavalry will hold onto the gas station and thus get the free coupons that goes to the victor of the scenario! Bravo horse turds! We are at the final two turns and at a dead Draw - I will not be able to retake the BP station (rear most objective). Looks like Garry and I are evenly bumblers, er matched! We each made a costly mistake but rallied at the end to correct it. Garry rallied last thus avoiding a Minor Defeat. My helmet is off to this fine Colonial officer. Garry, imagine us on the same team in a game! Looks like we need to pair up at some time for a MP game. Maj Gen Bill Peters, AoA, CSA Capt. Final comment - Garry Cope tried to give me the victory by letting me take the objective. Although I did so I have reported the result as a Draw. A salute to a fine opponent, friend and officer!
