One of my all time favorite movies about the revelutionary period and in general is a musical of all things. Has any one else seen 1776? Actually a very good movie on the Continental Congress. Probably one of my top 5 movies of all time. Shows what a nerd I really am. Aside from the Patriot what are other good movies and better yet good books on the battles, the founding fathers etc. Pvt Gremmels 1st/ 1st Div / Northern Dept Edited by - T. Two that come to mind are the PBS series on the ARW and the book to movie called 'The Bastard' an "historical novel' that covers the period. Theres an 1812 movie on New Orleans, and im sure there are others my feeble brain cant remember. I liked 1776 as well, so either we are both nerds or you arent as nerdy as all your friends, family, co-workers, associates, neighbors, and others think you are. Maj Gen ACWGC Lt. CCC Ens. NWC |

It's a family thing... When we can get together on the 4th, we always watch "1776". Tom did you see "The Crossing" on A&E the January before last? It was about the battle of Trenton and the Deleware Crossing...It was pretty durned good |

Tom, here's a book for you - Rabble in Arms by Kenneth Roberts My copy was printed in the early 50's, so there's no ISBN for you, but I do recommend this book. It's historical fiction. Here's a comment from another writer on it: "Rabble in Arms is magnificent. In both the beauty and the horror of his story, Kenneth Roberts reaches supreme heights and can defy comparison with any author that ever lived and wrote in any language I ever read in the original translation. They talk big of Tolstoi, Victor Hugo, Stephen Crane and a few others, but I put Kenneth Roberts up with the best of them. He is a great author who has actually written great novels."
Maj.
