Post subject: The Fop Flop Stops

After rigorous drills and instruction in proper societal etiquette, it can now be revealed that my protege is now fit and able to be a constant thorn in the side of all ye colonists, heathens, and saddle tramps who may be so impudent as to challenge him in military endeavors.

The unique circumstances of this event is of little importance. But to make plain the situation, it is as follows. I've payed out a great amount of sterling to see that this chap, in the spirit of sport I say, accepts challenges in all relatively evenly matched battles from the 1776 era. He'll accept one or perhaps two challenges at a time, as he sees fit. Of course, this would all be for naught if some "wager" wasn't made in the offing. Acceptable payment might be a low and deliberate bow to my man which would tide him over till I reimburse him from my purse in gold....your gold that is. Do not be so barbarous as to muss his wig, nor his attire in these affairs.

With that I will now reveal the identity of the Scourge of the Colonies, the Fabulous Fop, the Deadly Dandy of London...young Master James Poli! We've had to cloak his real identity in a Hessian veneer these past months, though he does lay claim to a small amount of royal blood of the House of Hanover. Appropriately, Major Poli is now in command of His Majesty's 3rd Foot Guards, and leads this unit with determination and skill.

So come lads, step up to the task and receive your drubbings without wimper or fear. We shall be sure to get your hides back behind your plows in time for harvest, or at the least, we shall make a small donation to your widows.

Boys we should've seen this coming!

The Brits had to find a German to rule them, and fight for them, so now they continue that course by getting a German to win for them.

Oh well, he may beat us, but he's not English, so it won't matter.

James have fun flopping for Phil, poor boy is too fragile for the field any more.

When you are ready to be thrashed soundly, send a courier. hehehehe....

Lt. Amos. I thought I had made it clear that Master James is 99% pure British sir...London born and bred! You were duped by our ingenious scheme at blanketing his real identity in Hessian blue lo all these many months. His ties to Hanover are consequential only in that he retains some royal blood, but he's jolly well British in all respects! Do keep your envy in check sir!

So then he's a mongrel, by Westminster Kennel Standards?

As for envy, we Amoses left York, England in the 1690's settled in the Baltimore, MD area (in fact Amos Blvd carries our family name ).

We had men fight with a Maryland Regiment (7th, I think) during the revolution.

I'm 12th generation and my son is 13th generation. Our heritage provides us with enough pride and self-worth. We don't suffer from "Prussian Envy".

BTW, that's Captain Amos, just for the record. hehehe...
