Post subject: | Brig. Gen. Natta honored |
Gentlemen, I have the honor to announce that, on recommendation of the Club Cabinet, the British Commander-in-Chief, Brig. Gen. Sean Coffey has bestowed upon the retired British Aide-de-Camp, Brig. Gen. Phil Natta, in recognition of the enormous services he has rendered the club and the British army, the highest decoration the British army can award, the Most Honorable Order of the Bath. (Since two of the three classes of the "real" order of the Bath confer Knighthood, while the club order has no classes, it seems fair to assume that this order confers Knighthood, too. I therefore conclude that Brig. Gen. Natta will henceforth be addressed by all club members as "Sir Phil".) -Salute- Capt. D.S. Walter 4th Regiment "King's Own" (for the Award Center) Capt. Walter 4th Regiment "King's Own" AdC, Royal North American Corps of 1812 |

Even his enemies have to respect one of the most formidable commanders in the British Army. A well deserved honor, to be sure. Salute! (even though we don't agree with titles, peerage and all the other nonsense.) Capt. Cox New Jersey Militia |

I'm surprised and very very honored to have this title bestowed on me! I honestly appreciate the consideration, and this award will be the highlight of whatever accomplishments I've managed to achieve in the CCC in the past 22 months. Thanks again to the club's cabinet members, all my fellow Brit officers, and to all my worthy and esteemed opponents I've had the pleasure of competing against. I'm not leaving the club, but with this award, perhaps it's time to lead the life more of a London country squire than stern military martinet...with occasional voyages to His Majesty's colonies just to keep the rebel rabble in check. Now Luigi, where's my riding crop and new fox hunting apparel? B.
