I have just come across this book regarding the conflict 1755 - 1763. So far, I have found it well researched with good use of primary sources. Good listings of units and strengths throughout but a dearth of maps. Chapter 7: The Tactical Evolution of the Redcoat may be of interest to those followwing the Yanks in Two Ranks thread. As an American officer, it warms the heart to see section headings like: "Defeat and Demoralization" and "The Nadir of British Prestige". Sadly, there are also: "Turn of the Tide" and "the Conquest of Canada". The full title is: Redcoats, The British Soldier and War in teh Americas 1755 - 1763 by Stephen Brumwell (Cambridge Press, 2002) As a side note, has anyone looked into doing something through Amazon for the Wargamer site (or have I not looked deep enough.) It seems to me that by maintaing a list of works on our page(s) we as a group would get a kickback for sales generated through our site. Funds then could be used for board upgrades, rmoval of banners and pop up ads. I know I buy plenty of books through Amazon, as do other members, and I would think that we might be able to generate a small, steady steam of funds for the club. Maj.
