Ok, out of the pipe dream category.. *hehehe*
Which of these would you want to see?
No idea if any of these ideas are under development or even remote consideration by the powers that be (i.e. John Tiller).

For this club:
1.) French and Indian War
2.) Mexican American War

My choice.. #2. Would provide an interesting look at the changes in warfare from in this transitional era.

In a more general sense (wouldn't fit with any current club)
1. War of the Spanish Succssion/Great Northern War
2. War of the Austrian Succession
3. 7 Years war.

Well, if you've been paying attention, you don't have to guess what I would want to see. Lets see.. Marlborough, Eugene of Savoy, Charles XII, Blenheim, Ramillies, Poltava, Zenta... British, French, Russians, Imperial, Swedish, Prussian, Spanish, Turks (Turks!) what more could you want?

heh, touche again. You keep doing this to me *L*. I guess the point is though that it would be a bit of a stretch for the same game to cover say, Montcalm and Wolfe as Fredrick and Daun...

Now I know it isn't in this particular Clubs time frame, but since we all are members of all three, for the most part, how about moving up about 5 years from the ACW and do the Franco-Prussian War?

The French & Indian War/Seven Years War cover the same era. That's my choice.

Dierk,
Um, if this happens, do us all a favor and don't start in on the "that unit should be one hex further east, see, it's in my pile of research" routine on us, ok

Gary,

Mind if I do? hehehe...

Nothing wrong with a little accuracy.

For anyone interested the Campaign Corinth engine is the best suited for the Franco-Prussian War.

It has simplified skirmishing, enhanced cavalry melee, indirect fire, entrenching capabilities, trenches, etc, etc.

Scope of the war would be better suited to that engine's scale as well.

Of course, Manchester says that the entire war was basically won by Krupp anyway, so there wouldn't be any point to gaming it [;p]

Me too! Though love to see the Austro-Prussian war and maybe Danish-German war at a pinch but those I think are a bit one sided!
