Post subject: | Medals awarded; Colonials consolidating their lead |
Gentlemen of both armies, I have the pleasure to announce that His Britannic Majesty and the Continental Congress, in joint action and perfect harmony, have seen fit to bestow upon their loyal subjects and their brave citizens, respectively, the following decorations. Colonials: Lt. Col. Phil Powers - 1st Saratoga Lt. Col. Mike Cox - Burlington Heights, Bladensburg Maj. Dwight Conlan - Campaign Medal 1812, Bladensburg Lt. Gary McClellan - Brandywine Lt. Jerry Nelson - Special Battlefield Medal Ens. Gene Nix - Bunker Hill Ens. Chris Hopper - Monmouth British: Maj. Gen. Sean Coffey - Plattsburg Lt. Col. D.S. Walter - Battlefield Completion Medal, Fort Ticonderoga, Monmouth, Sackett's Harbour Capt. Sam Orlando - Monmouth Lt. Richard White - North Point Sgt. C.J. Thunfeldt (on the inactives list) - Brandywine My congratulations for all recipients! For those interested in statistics, with these awardings the Colonials manage to consolidate their lead and are now two medals ahead of the British. The totals for individual categories still show the familiar picture - the British are ahead in individual battles of the Revolution, the Colonials lead in the War of 1812 and in both Campaigns. The British have now five Battlefield Completion Medals, as compared to but one for the Colonials ... I don't really know what to make of this, but it appears that the Colonials have more active players that contribute to their lead, while the British have a small number of outstandingly active players. Details are available from the statistics page at the Award Center. - Salute - for the Award Center: Lt.Col. D.S. Walter O.S.M. Commanding 4th Regiment of Foot, "The King's Own" Aide-de-camp, Royal North American Corps |

oooh, pretty ribbon Of course, the bad part is that I'm part of no less than 3 of these medals. Not only do I have my first one, but I am the poor soul who gave away two of the British Medals...congrats to all Lt Gary McClellan 12th Virgina Light Dragoons CO Northern Department |
