This quiz was not meant to be totally humorous as it is sad how many folks no longer know or care about what happened in the past. Sadly our citizens forget about even the most simple things about our history (but the cherry tree is obviously not that important - I put it in to point out how trivia has dominated our current events yet the most trivial events in history are often the most remembered). I salute those that continue to write about history, neither being overbearing with their viewpoint or overlooking the obvious in their portratying of the events. Not trying to impress their own view on folks but trying to faithfully describe the past. A salute to historians that are honest! Are you sure Revolutionary War general Charles Lee was a relative of R.E. Lee? I think he was actually of Irish, not Virginia, descent, though I am not sure. Well, I am positive that Light Horse Harry was a relative - he was R.E.'s father. <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle> And he was a general in the ARW - a great leader of cavalry. RE Lee married Mary Custis, the Gr Granddaughter of Martha CUSTIS Washington. Lee held George Washington is very high regard. Now see (as I emphatically slap my knee) there you go! Even I dont know my history. That is how bad this generation has sunk! Actually meant to say old Light Horse but the brain cells wouldnt gel.
