Nope its not me. I wouldn't even be asked to draw a bath, let alone command one [:D]. Not Lord Mountbatten either. |

A tricky one you are, Al - Richard Henry Burton, won VC in Italy, his exploits are indeed legendary, and Elspeth would be Elizabeth Taylor. |

'Tis a flash cove, this boudour warrior. From "School Days" was he plucked, re-writ by humourous hand. Elphinstone he knew, and Brooke, and Lincoln, too, as well two Browns (cans't guess them, thou?), Fisher (not Eddie), Carson (not Johnny), Grant (not Cary), Bismark and, by inference, Lee & Stuart both. Wee Vicky medaled him o'er while Dutch Bertie stood by doing an impression of a stuffed frog. His father backed an ebon miller. His map was slashed, but not in battle. Holmes marked him incorrectly. But this I put to you, oh you who read: Did golden Elspeth love him, indeed? |

MadJack is right, and Dierk too. He is Sir Harry Flashman. A hero. A coward. A man's man indeed. The are about twelve books with his stories to read. http://www.harryflashman.org/ |
