I saw these chaps about 10 years ago, was quite rousing! There were as many kilts in the audience as skirts. Bartholemew wouldn't stay in his seat he was so excited, and of course the ladies loved his little guardsmen jacket. But...after about an hour of pipes 'a piping, he started howling and got us tossed out. My uniform and wig also caused some confusion as I was mistaken for the drum major. [8D]

It was a great show. My son (who is almost 4) said that the Vaunted Grenadier Guards looked like our Nutcrackers we display during the holidays. From the mouth of babes.

The Royal Highlander Pipes and Drums were also performing last night. If you wouldn't be impressed by the combined bands playing Sousa I don't know what your problem is. They are doing a tour across North America, so if they are in your neck of the woods I would certainly recommend seeing them.

No one joined me in singing 'My Country Tis of Thee'. Too many Kilt wearers. Also, my screams of 'Play Ozzy' wasn't appreciated. Isn't he British after all?

Who do you think is better? The Eight and I Marine Band or the Grenadier Band? My bet is on the Marines. Are the Guards Englands version of the Eight and I?

I am going to see the British Grenedier Gaurds Regimental Band concert and Royal Highland drums and dancers show tonight. Taking my son and Dad to this show. Should be fun.

Now here is my thought. Lets see who can come up with the best Heckle line to use. Of course I am not going to say anything, but it would be funny to see what people can up with to heckle this distinguished out fit with.

I thought of singing as loud as I could the words to 'My Country Tis of Thee' when they play 'God Save the Queen/King'. I might get a few people next to me to go along with it.

See if they know "The World Turned Upside Down" just for old time's sake.
