Traveling this week to Hilton Head via Savannah. Any sites worth seeing in my free time? (In a military history sense, though nightlife tips are appreciated too).

Thanks,

Fort Pulaski on Tybee Island. Downtown Savannah is a real treat. Lots of statues(Pulaski, Lafayette) The town center is laid out in a series of Squares with some sort of historical marker in almost all of them, and if its a pretty day I suggest drinking a Guiness, then walking around some, dip into a pub, get a Guiness, walk around some. You get the picture. You just missed a huge St Pattys party. The Riverwalk area is a bit touristy, but is worth visiting. Various markers around town depicting the Siege of Savannah, one of which is by the tourist info area downtown where you can arrange a historical tour, or many other types of tours. The tourist info center is a good place to start. A neat place to go all in all.
