Just a bit of background on the 4th of July Tourney:

A Gary McClellan designed, Maines and Henderson approved, scenario on what I believe is a new map (but I might be wrong on this).

There is plenty of room for maneuver in this one (unlike last year where you were boxed in for a short, sweet stand up fight. I believe that the number of turns is around 24. That, coupled with the 50 or so units to a side, should make the game play quickly.

The opposing sides are mirrored in the oob so it really does offer you the chance to measure yourself against your opponent.

Calling all American soldiers and officers of the 1812, Grand and Regional Armies to enlist to defend the title.</font id="Times New Roman"></font id="size4">

Defend the colours!
My boys have the rifles loaded and itch for giving the lobsters a new volley.
I have signed up for the tournament and I can only say Look Forward for it!

And to the Brothership of His Majesty's forces! Defend the King's laws and our rightful ownership of these colonies and territories. [:(!]

My laddies have fixed bayonets and itch to give the Yankee Doodles a jolly good "ribbing", eh what? [xx(][:(][xx(]

Well, as of right now I am engaged in 6 battles in this club, and 6 in 2 other clubs, now If the Americans fall short in the number battle in the tournament, then I will take on another match, if we make our numbers then I must decline so as not to be to slow in my file turn arounds.

What, you won't lead your men in battle personally? You just send them off, to be slaughtered by the redcoats no doubt, and stay safely behind? [:0]

Mike, Mike, what sort of men have you chosen as officers for your armed mob? I am shocked!! [:p]

General Walter sir, I must reply to your last posting. First of all my men will not go to the slaughter, unless it is the slaughter of a bunch of lobsters [:D] Secondly, I think I have more than proved myself on the field as leading from the front, considering the thrashing I have taken from you[B)]General Natta [B)] and many others. I think I am currently engaged at Culloden against LT Hipkins, Quebec against General Natta, Germantown against LTs Tomlin and Tombesi(Two seperate battles), A Campaign F&I against MAJ. Roubaud, and a Campaign F&I against LT Gordon. Now if you want I will face you in the 4th of July tournament, if it can be arranged and I can seek my revenge for earlier defeats. [}:)]

Mike, actually, it's a submap off of one of the regular game maps [:)] Most battles tend to get fought in a certain area, and so you can go into another area and voila! no one recognizes the terrain

I'm in ofcourse. This means victory will be ours!
Do I need to put my signature on some paper?

I believe this was a simple misunderstanding General Walter Sir. Fighting for the wrong cause aside, I have to applaud LTC Malone for his willingness to engage those fighting for the right cause. If some of his compatriots were as willing to take to the field as he is, we might have more to be concerned about. The Colonials are lucky to count this officer among their ranks. I even caught Bartholemew licking his hand once when I had Mr. Malone in my custody. [:p]

Sir Phil Natta,

It's always nice to see you in these quarters as well as on the field.
But beware when you face me in this tournament. First I got a major loss, than a draw, so our next fight will be a win for me![:D]

Thank you General Natta, I just hope I can finaly beat ya in a battle [:D] I know MAJ. GEN. Walter was just trying to get me on the field with him again [B)] I just sometimes get to many battles a started and I do not like to make people wait for my turns [;)] But if Needed I will defend our side with all that I have [}:)] Besides I have to show that I earned this last promotion [^]
