Post subject: | Penn's Woods Challenge |
Gentlemen: The Officers of the Western Department of the American Army offer a Challenge. We the men of Penn's Woods challenge the following three officers of the Second Brigade of the British Left Wing; Ensign R.J.B. Launchbury, Cpl. Mike Smith and Cpl. Phillipe Mouledous to meet us in battle. The following is proposed: a three on three multi-player by e-mail game at a battlefield in Penn's Woods, (i.e. Germantown or Brandywine). We would also like to extend an invitation to our senior officers to join the effort in an advisory capacity. That is, we would like to invite, Lt. Colonel Tony Malone, Regional Commander, US Army and Brigadier General Ernie Sands, Commander of the British Left Wing to help us plan the overall strategy, then cut us junior officers loose to execute it. We feel this is an interesting way to spark rivalry and fun interplay within and between the armies. If its a hit, perhaps we will issue future Penn's Woods Challenges to other brigades or groups of Injuns. We were hoping to begin this game sometime after the holidays in early January. Hope you gentlemen are all able to participate. Sincerely, The Men of the Western Department Ensign Mike Davies--2nd PA Corporal George Kasnic--3rd PA Private Steven Sweitzer--1st PA |

Sir (I use the term loosely [:p]), While I cannot speak for the others on the list I can assure you that the 20th Regiment of Foot stands ready to put all traitors to their rightful end, at the end of a noose [:D] Seriously though, I would be happy to join in on this one. What say you Ernie? Will you lead us? |

I emailed him to check on his status for THIS game. He has indicated he might have problems until after Christmas, but don't know for sure, yet. |

Just got Ernie's email and figured I'd check out this thread (hadn't even looked at it yet) and yes, if this game is going on in January I'd love to be a part. However, if you want this to play out during December, then I'd have to hand over my slot to someone else. |

So, It appears its up to the challengers how they want to proceed. Personally, I can go either way though waiting till January would be a small concession, imho. |

Sorry Gentlemen, I was away for a week and did not see the responses. I merely have to get in touch with my Lt. Colonel yet; I sent one e-mail but will try again. Everyone else is on board. We will indeed begin this in January. (after the Holidays) I will e-mail details to all. [8D]
mtdavies@msn.com |
