I have always been fond of the maneuver opportunities that exist at Brandywine and Saratoga....

For sentimental reasons, Princeton & Trenton are also good, but tough wins (near impossible in the case of Trenton) for the Brits.

I like the maneuver options at Brandywine & Germantown. Have had my best fights at both spots. For me, the bigger the map the better. [:D]

I havent played enough of them to choose a favorite. Of the ones I have played, Yorktown is fun. It has extra meaning because I have been to the battlefield and I can visualize the battle as I play it.

Don't have a lot of experience, but Brandywine is the one battle so far that seems to have a number of interesting options for both sides. A very good rock, paper, scissors, match.

I still like Cowpens. My favorite Revolutionary War battle.

Probably Brandywine, Germantown & Saratoga in that order, although it's hard to say I really prefer one over the others. The larger battles have more options and opportunities, however I like most 1776 battles - big or small - and there are times when the smaller engagements have greater appeal ... at least they can get finished in a matter of weeks rather than months! There are those of us who are old enough to remember that famous multiplayer Saratoga which lasted almost as long as the entire war!

Brandywine and Eutaw Springs.

Brandywine for the big battle. I lost my first and only game of this battle but now have an unbroken string of victories (7 at last count) whether in MP or 1 on 1 (Sam Orlando and I enjoying the sights of Pennsyvania together against a British team that we wont name). I dont boast often at all but this battle I own so far. My plan has yet to be beat. I used to hear American members cry that they couldnt win as the Colonial player. Well that's over! I have yet to find an opponent that can beat me as EITHER side. Still waiting of course for the eventual butt whupping. Thinking it might come ... in a few years! [:D]

Eutaw Springs for the smaller action. I like the fact that the Continentals finally have better morale than the British! On the other hand they have to take up alot of territory in order to win. I have seen the British fall back gradually and win (if they dont let that lone cav unit get eaten alive). When the British try and get cute here they lose. When the American tries to get cute here he loses too! It takes a patient player for each side to win. Other games - you can be rash. Here you must carefully husband your forces.

I like Saratoga alot but the fixed units always bother me for some reason. I would prefer to have a submap and not have all of those fixed Continentals sitting in behind their breastworks.

For best OPPONENT - it is found that Sir What's His Poodle, Phil Gnatta is my hardest opponent to beat. Have I ever beat him? I think in one game of Brandywine. Other than that it is game, set, match Mr. McEnroe!

Others to watch out for are Garry Cope. In our first and only meeting he beat me in the CCC 1776 tourny last year. I must admit with the Rout Limiting off I was not on my usual turf but Garry knows that I dont make excuses and found him to be every bit the player that his reputation states. Also watching out to play some of my 1812 opponents of past games. I caught Scott Reed on a bad day in an online Indian matchup. Other than that he usually tears me apart.

Thanks for the overly generous compliment Wild Bill. Yes you have a victory over me at Brandywine. But since, I've nearly perfected a winning counter-strategy which I must try out on you sometime. Besides, Bartholemew loved the taste of your ankle and has been pestering me for more. [}:)]

The ankle is none the worse for wear. Besides that was my wooden leg he was ****ing, er chewing on anyway!

Should I construe this as a call for more punishment, er another game? I wonder if you havent picked up on what I saw from the second game I played - that being the PROPER moves for the British.

Options must still be as per my Profile. No one phase system please. My Continentals would shread you that much faster!

(despite all of the bravado everyone knows to have a proper respect for the pooch, er, I mean Phil - he is one mean customer on the field of battle)
