Greene vs. Cornwallis - Divisional Battle 1 10:00 am 5 May, 1779 * Hypothetical * American General Greene's division confronts General Cornwallis' 2nd Division. NOTE: Many new ideas and features in this scenario. 1) Revised Germantown map. 2) All infantry rated as LIGHT to enable players to use historical army doctrines of open files/extended lines. 3) Additional leaders so rgts. can be deployed historically ... for British this means half the rgt in open file in the first line of battle, and the remaining of the rgt in closed order in the second line of battle; for the Americans this means having the rgts split into two maneuver groups since rgts contain more than 160 files. 4) All units at full, theoretical strengths. 5) Non-standard pdt file with enhanced hitting power for artillery, and substantially different movement costs than in standard. 6) ORCHARD type terrain used to represent light woods with height reduced, and does not automatically disrupt line infantry. ![]() 100 VPs. 9) Infantry worth 1 VP per man, Cavalry worth 2VPs per man, Artillery worth 25 VPs per gun, and Supply Points worth 1 VP per SP. 10) Artillery units (single guns) grouped in battery formations with leader and 1 Battery Wagon (Supply Wagon) per section. 11) Each rgt has 1 Baggage Wagon (Supply Wagon.) 12) British cavalry armed with Small Arms weapons which increases its melee value by 50%; US Cavalry given Carbines typical cavalry; British Provincial Cavalry (Queen's Rangers) rated as Militia armed with Carbines, performs in game as equal to US Cavalry. 13) Stacking limits reduced to 150 men per hex. 14) Scenario Designer recommends when using X-LINE formation to refrain from stacking more than 50 men or 1 company if it is larger than 50, and if the 96 man Highland companies go into X-LINE that players leave one hex interval between companies. 14) Wagons and Artillery Pieces cannot cross walls or fences unless path or road is present (representing a gate.) 15) Detailed Ai for both armies to attack. ------ Each army has @ 5,500 men. |
