I thought it was interesting that there wasn't much response (i.e., zero response) to my prior post about a "wish list" of features we would fantasize having in future versions of the game software. But I thought I would suggest a feature that I think would be just great. As you know, whether a unit has 1 man, or 200 men, it is the same size on the battlefield (in this case, I'm specifically referring to the 2D views). Wouldn't it be great if we could click on a button, and the unit icons disappeared, and a blue or red dot appeared on the landscape for each 5 men (averaging up if you like) in a hex? Artillery could be triangles. Cavalry could be rectangles. But in an instant, one could review where the battle line appears weak (yours, or your opponent's). And then click the button again to see the normal icons, and their alignment and so forth. This is the view that would most closely approximate a general's view during historical battles. He could get an immediate impression of the ebb and flow of the battle by looking at the massing of men. I know we are a long time away from any ambitious enhancements.
