Post subject:  The Great Phone FLOOD of 2001
Howdy ya'll,

Please forgive any slowness in answering your emails and turning game files for a couple days.

It seems that a construction crew broke a water line in our area yesterday and it flooded a telephone sub-station with 5 feet of water. This blew their circuits and their back-up batteries ... all of which they now have to replace. Our 919 system is down as well as 34,000 residential/commercial phone lines. They say all lines should be back up by sometime Monday.

They got our family metro line back a little while ago, but my local line that I use for the computer is still down. So I have run a long phone line from our other phone and am up temporarily. <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

I will use this other line for popping on from time to time. (wife won't stand for me tying up her line like I do mine <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> ) Hopefully I can get the needed page updates uploaded and that kind of stuff.
