I am not a person who gets into the games so much that I know that Piere Fontamblue on the French side is taking a leak on the first turn with the mascot Fido and if I move my units carefully I can sneak through the woods, and surprise him and his regiment of skittish sixteen-year-olds who always rout if you look at them funny. Then if I move a unit to hex 345 I can block the reinforcements that might arrive on the third turn, but if they don't arrive on turn three they don't arrive at all. I play a casual game where I may be as clueless as the original combatants. I don't use knowledge unknown to them to do a strategy they never would have used to secure victory in three turns so that if Wellington's ghost came to visit even he couldn't win. Last few games I played everything I ever thought I had learn flew out the window. And every move I made was like an extra move for my opponent. Anyone else out there either a beginner or a perpetual beginner? Robert W. Caldwell |

Sorry I forgot to say I'm allied. Been a member for a long time, haven't been active lately. Was a member way back as French. Left then came back as Allied. I looked and can't find where I stored what army I am in. I am sorry I have a life outside the game and get distracted by other things so that I forget and loose it. It is nice to see that people of different skill levels are welcome- not. I have played people who seem to have uncanny good luck and I wondered if they replayed turns several times to get the best. I don't do that. I found an opponent. Robert W. Caldwell |
