Have you both updated to Waterloo Version 1.04?

Yes, we both have v1.04. I receive a "Replay Error" when I try to replay the turn sent by Omar.

That sounds familiar, but I cannot remember the cause.

Anybody got any ideas on this? Andy?

It is POSSIBLE That the game file is corrupted, especially if sent UNZIPPED.

Also, BOTH players should delete their pbemail.xxx AND .yyy, if present!

Yes, that was it. The pbem.xxx and pbem.yyy files. They are most likely the cause. I have been playing Leipzig so long I have gotten spoiled. I had previously developed a very good habit of deleting those two files every single time I closed out my game. More than an unzipped transfer, those two files commonly cause irrevocable file corruptions if they are not routinely purged. :o :x

Thanks, Ernie. You are a genius and your tab is on me tonight.

Assuming you both have the latest version installed, the program automatically deletes the xxx and yyy files, so that can't be the issue. It sounds to me like one or the other has not installed the game, update or file correctly. It may be an unzipped file issue but I've never had a problem with that.

If you haven't already checked....Start game, click on HELP in upper header ( not the games tool bar ) then click on ABOUT,that will give you the current version of the game. In my case the installers for both Waterloo and Jena had to be guided to the correct folder bye using the browse button.

Salute!

Walt's post brought something to mind.
When I recently did the update's for Jena & Austerlitz games, I happened by chance to notice that I suddenly had two versions of Jena.

I keep my games stored two at a time in separate folders.
I updated Jena first, and then Austerlitz (both stored in separate folders).
When looking in the folder containing Austerlitz (which is shared with my Eckmuhl game) I saw there was a Jena folder there all of a sudden.

I checked it's properties and last modified date/time, and it was from when I had done the recent update.
I looked in the folder where the game is typically stored, and there was a folder there as well, but it had an older modified date/time.

I simply copied the newer folder over the older one.

This may or may not have anything to do with the issues at hand.
But I have suggested to Bill that he check his 'puter for duplicate game folders of Waterloo.

Regards,
