Having suffered 2 crushing defeats I have time for another battle. I have just acquired HPS Napoleon's Russian Campaign so ....

Looking for ANY French officer to challenge me to BG Matrix Kutozov turns to fight.

OR

A French officer somewhat below the rank of Marechal to challenge me to HPS version of the above scenario.

Matrix because I enjoy this one, HPS because it will be easier to learn the HPS system with a battle I already have some experience with.

Sir,

Is this the batle you are referencing for HPS NRC?

Single Battle - The Battle of Moscow, Kutusov Finally Stands (52 turns, Large) - September 16, 1812- Deciding not to give battle at Borodino, Kutusov finally is pressured by the Tsar to contest Napoleon at the gates of Moscow.

No - it would be BorodinoNF - No fixed units so free to maneuver.

This gives the French the advantage of being able to retreat to a defensive position North of the river, blow the bridges and cower ;-) - in my dreams this happens ;-)

More realistically the Russians don't have half their army sitting on their collective backsides ;-)

When I said "somewhat below the rank of Marechal" I was hoping for someone even lower than a General though as I have yet to play the HPS game against a real person.

Still if no one comes forward I will welcome the opportunity to learn from you. After all it is better to lose to an esteemed General than a novice like me :-)

Captain Allessandro - communication en route ( see I can use French words)

General Art Ozols - I want to learn the HPS system - I do not know which of the optional rules should be used within the club. I think the alternate fire/melee results gives a more even result and I like the idea of auto defensive fire (but only when I have sufficient artillery ammo!!!!!!!!!). What do you suggest?

HPS - as Mae West may have said "My what a big map you have." ;-)
