I thought I'd be retiring for a while, but guess that isn't the case after all. Looking for someone who owns Commander: Napoleon at War to play. My usual opponents are all busy at the moment and I am wondering if anyone else has it and wants to play....

A good way to kick off my (delayed) celebration of 10 years in the Club!

Write here or email me: eric2900@aol.com

Scott,

I think You & I are the only two who play this awesome title. Too bad my game card is full right now...

On a side note, I miss your hand at the helm of the Austro-Prussian-Swedish Alliance....Its been very baron on the home pages since you're retirement.

Hope all is well!!

Gary indeed we probably are. :) There were a few others a while back. When you get a free slot let's play. I'll be around, you know where to find me....

Thanks, I am just too busy to do anything about it at the moment. Maybe soon though some updates can be arranged.......just don't have a big chunk of time that'll be available to do it in right now....

I have the game, but have never played it, like wise, time is the issue. I have to say I have almost all the Napoleonic games and some of them are on my get around to it list!

Really Al! I am not sure if I ever knew that....maybe long ago. It really is imo and I am sure Gary would agree, one of the better non-HPS Napoleonic games. It has just enough depth while still being easy to learn and it also is grand strategic in the overall mode, but you still move artillery, cavalry, ships and infantry around, but not in unwieldy numbers. I wish they would of added on to the game more myself.....

If you want to play sometime, let me know....I'm sure Gary would oblige as well.....most everything you need to know about the game is hidden in this game guide:

Scott-- I can manage something on a smaller scale, just not the grand campaign, right now.

Send me a turn, if you'd like: GaryR_Dot_Whalen_@_GMail_Dot_Com

Al-- If you'd ever like to try CNaW, I would be honored to meet you (teach you) how to play.

I'm actually not a huge fan of the Grand Campaign and I can't play it either right now. I'll send you something this weekend though... :)

Gentlemen,

read your posts after just being back from holidays, oh no, ... ehem... I meant recon mission, of course.

Had the honour to be playtester of CNaW, but not played it after the release. Recently started a campaing playing against a new endign. Pity that he did not like it and we quit. If one of you is interested I will take the challenge (keine_brettspiele@hotmail.com).

Will be on another ... eh .... recon mission til Sunday.

With best regards, Juergen Kraut

Salute Sirs

I have recently purchased Napoleon at War is that the same game. Not really had the chance to have a proper go at it but hoping this Saturday to have a full day at it. If this is the same game and anyone wants to have a battle or a campaign email me and let me know. mark.hornsby@hotmail.com

Like I said I'm not fully up to speed with the game yet so any tips would certainly be appreciated.

Dear Juergen:

I was your opponent at the Commander Nap at War game-

I just felt I had to add that it was not me who stopped the game

At the time, my forces controlled Spain, Italy & Austria and where advancing bravely into Russia..

(I did send the last turn, you never sent yours- So I assumed It was you who disliked CNAW)

You made the suggestion of switching to Matrix´s ATG remember? (and we did)

I have CNAW, but honestly found it way too simple.

Seems that there was some misunderstanding. Thought you wouldnt enjoy the game. So I stopped playing turns.

Leave it up to you whether we continue or not.

Btw, yes, your forces marched bravely eastwards - right into their desaster! General Winter was already waiting for them. And cossacks were standing in the woods prepared to hunt down the freezing and exhausted remains of the guards. Russia will never fall!

Sorry to say, Sir. But do you really think your forces have just a slight chance of winning when fighting in disordered line? No discipline, no close line, concentrated fire - enemy cavalry will end this running around of your forces quickly.
