I have done a 2D Streams (zoom in or 2 on your keyboard) alternate artwork file for the HPS Napoleonic Campaigns series. I am sure that it would work with the ACW/EAW series too but check it to be sure.

Here are the instructions:
1. Go to the link, download the file to you PC.
2. In the Map subfolder find the filename 2DHexSides100.bmp and add "Old_" in front of the filename. Thus "Old_2DHexSides100.bmp" is what you end up with.
3. Unzip the file you downloaded to the Map subfolder of your Napoleonic Campaign game.
4. Open up the game and here is what you will see.

Similar to the style of my Roads artwork I think that the solid black border really helps bring out the stream terrain type better.
