Post subject:  Harpoon?

A couple of years ago, someone on this page asked if a version of the old Harpoon game was going to be available for the newer versions of Windows. I've been looking at the Matrix games site and they claim to have since 2006 a widely established and played version of the game (Harpoon ANW), see below, with apologies for not pasting as a link.

Does anyone know if this is any good? I loved Harpoon when it originally came out.

well, it looks good, and runs on XP and VISTA, but I am terrible at it. My understanding is that it is an evolution of the original computer game. Matrix sells two versions, and I think they have different detail levels...

Thanks Jim
It certainly looks the goods. I'm actually interested in whether it's stable etc and works as claimed.

Yes indeed, "He trains my hands for battle so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze."

But has anyone actually played the #$@% game?

worked fine for me running in VISTA and seemed to run as designed. I would look at the Matrix forums and maybe post there. The forum crowd there tends to be pretty honest.

Thanks Jim. Downloaded the thing. It runs OK but I agree it's pretty complicated. (More so than the original.) See how I go.
