Post subject:  The plot of the Rue Saint-Nicaise
Had this attempt on Napoleon's life been successful, what would have happened to France? Would they have gone back to the Terror? A new Royal? or what? I'm eager to read your ideas.

Hi Amos,

I don't think the royalist could have taken advantage of it. Fouché who was Police Minister at the time would have certainly been essential
-in the search and punishment of the responsibles
-in the constitution of the next government.
The death of Bonaparte could have been an occasion for Fouché and others to take power.
