10 minutes into the New Year here in Boise. BOOM BOOM BOOM as the fireworks exploded in our subdivision.

I finished up work on a nice map tonite for one of our next titles. All in all I ended the old year and rung in the new with more places for you guys to fight over! [8D]

(no, I dont go out club'ing Ernie - our town is not safe what with all of those former Marines roaming the town drinking and kicking up a ruckus!) [;)]

Happy New Year to you all.

A huge electrical storm passed over just after dark, with the lightning lighting up behind the mountain and then half the sky as the storm passed through over the city. (Mount Wellington in Hobart, Tasmania)

It took about 20 minutes from the first flashes until the rumble of thunder was close enough to be heard and it was complete half an hour after the first flashes that the rain hit. It took a further hour for the storm to fully pass over.

Hours later as the midnight fireworks began, they competed with the lighting waaaaay off, on the distant, Eastern horizon.

The fireworks were no contest, Nature at her most awesome.
