Soon, I will be able to publish an OOBEditor which will work with Napoleonic games. Click the link to see a bigger image. ![]() http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/4402/oobeditorn.jpg It's much, much more user friendly than the old one from 2002 ![]() Colonel Dominik Derwinski (LoH, OCR, OE, CV, EM, MM) Duc de Sacile et Comte de Garonne Commandant Cavalerie de la Jeune Garde La Grande Armée - IIIe Corps d'Armée - 2ème Division (Friant) |

Outstanding Dominik. I have your earlier version. I hope that all of the issues I ran into in that version have been solved in this version! Your screenshot is nice. Looks like you have really added some nice enhancements since the version I have was released. I don't know what issues you had, it's based on the latest version I sent to Rich in 2009 with some minor additions, except that it only supports Napoleonic games. You should have 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. This new version will be called 1.1.3 and 1.1.3N. I was unable to add in new units. Would just do nothing. I didn't see a use for it as I go with a text editor (and also Ultra Edit) but I will give this one a test run! You must have received bad version 1.1.0, which was fixed in 3 days. Too bad you didn't get working one. Colonel Dominik Derwinski (LoH, OCR, OE, CV, EM, MM) Duc de Sacile et Comte de Garonne Commandant Cavalerie de la Jeune Garde La Grande Armée - IIIe Corps d'Armée - 2ème Division (Friant) |

Well really I wasn't finding it that useful for how I work. I am sure that I may find a feature in it that is helpful. Can you copy an entire ORG (say a brigade) in the OB and paste it as a new brigade? That would be handy. Also - can you preview the picture you are going to see in the 2d and 3d files? That would be nice too. Another thing that would be nice is if you can figure out a way to come up with an editor that can take our Campaign files and allow us to COPY and PASTE a BRANCH. Its a real pain in the whazoo to do (though I figured out how to do it in Ultra Edit) as if you dont do it right the entire campaign file is hosed. There are spaces and so on that if you dont do the copy right in a text editor render the file useless until you can figure out where they need to go. I would like to get John Tiller to come up with a way to be able to Copy and Paste a Branch in the Campaign Editor. It really would help in saving time in redoing all of the text copying. I often use several branches in my campaign files that are very similar. Just need to change some key text in them. Making up a completely new branch is time consuming. Copying or moving may be done by drag and drop and thanks to this is very easy and quick to do. The editor is also good for checking if the oob uses correct weapon types and if icon numbers are not out of range. Can it locate missing BEGIN or END statements? Rich and I were wondering as that would help when you build an OB and it wont open in the Editor. I think sometimes it can, sometimes it can not. Begins will be fixed automatically for all structures. They are actually not useful from the parsing point of view. Declaration of a structure is all that would be sufficient (as for each declaration there is one begin and nothing should go between them). With END it's tricky as it won't find anything wrong in a unit attached to lower level structure. It can only complain when there's not enough ENDs in the whole file, or too much given how deep in the tree we are. For Wagram I get: Unable to load configuration file Changes.txt I have version 1.03 on my PC so its not a version issue. What does this error message mean as it concerns my ability to use the editor? Wagram is at 1.08 now, do you really mean that game? By the way, this error means you have put a file called changes.txt in the oob editor directory (or put the editor inside a game directory) and the program tries to load all .txt files in given directory thinking they are information about game formats (like the original .txt files included with the editor). On the other hand the error is not critical, the given file is not loaded (as it's not a proper file) but others should be. I suggest keeping the editor in separate directory.
