I need to hear back from anyone that has played a scenario to conclusion in Austerlitz. Please send your comments to me at: wmp3662 gmail com Put Austerlitz in the subject field. I would like to get an update out (eventually) and need to hear back from you. This next update could be my last as I want to avoid doing alot of these. This does not mean that when the game engine changes we will not put out an update. I am speaking of the work I did in the game. Speak now or forever hold your peace ... ![]() |

I'm pretty sure that between you and Jon Thayer you've proven to me that most of the campaign scenarios are very much one sided in favor of the French! ![]() |

Hi Bill Overall I think almost all aspects of this game are excellent making it the best of all the series. One small observation I have made while playing Austerlitz historical battle is that the French officers seem to die very easily and statistically faster than the % in the scenario info. Might be worth checking for a bug as the allieds don't seem to have the problem. One thing that is excellent and more historical is the fearsome power of cavalry - with the increased stacking and 5X multiplier you had better not leave your infantry out of square (as you could on previous versions) or you will be cut to pieces. In one of my games a charge inflicted 536 casualites. Pretty realistic simulation of a btn being ridden down in the open and effectively ending it's role in the battle. It was with a maximum cav stack into the flank of the unit. The new morales are very good as well I think. Overall the best so far. regards Colin |

Thanks Colin - as to the leader casualties these are listed in the PDT file and they are the same for all nations. Here are the percentages: Fire Combat Wound: 2% Killed: 3% Melee Combat Wound: 3% Killed: 4% Captured: 5% All I can say is that I have seen it go both ways in games. If this continues to be a serious issue please contact Rich Hamilton at the HPS Support email and send him a game file. |

That is amazing, Colin. In one of my games, I lost 536 men to my opponent's cavalry charge. What a coincidence! ![]() Hey, wait......you mean infantry can form square?!?!? ![]() Of course, what Colin failed to mention is the fact that he methodically blitzed through all of my squares on the front lines, and about three other layers of defenses, to absolutley destroy my infantry unit that was in column IN THE REAR! Somebody send me some Tylenol. Prilosec would not be a bad idea either. I have to keep my nitroglycerin tablets nearby every time I watch one of Colin's battle replays. ![]() Yeah, I know, all you Frenchmen are loving this. Where is that oak table anyway? ![]() |
