Gentlemen, I am delighted to have the honour of presenting to you my effort at a modification for the Map graphics for the HPS Napoleonic Battles games. Simply put, I found the black outlines used in the Hex Grid overlay on the 3D views rather distracting so I set about re-working the files to create something a bit more restrained. I've cobbled together some old and new images to produce, I hope, mapping that you will find appealing whether you use 2D, 3D or, like myself, a combination of the two for your gaming purposes. Took a look at them Jim. Nice graphics. Personally I prefer to turn on the Contour view and thus the hex outline in your set is mainly an irritant but still your work has a softer approach. I sent the link along to Joe Amoral who may well be updating our 3D artwork for the Nap series. No promises there but we want our work to look better after many years of taking the abuse on the graphics front. We are not a huge company like MS or the others but feel that something better is needed. Anyway, thanks so much for your contributions! |
