There comes a slow roll of the drums, a local kommandeur places a small notice on the Waldhausen Kirche (Church) door.

He remarks...."Das is vom Berlin under Der König, calling alls able bodied Jäger to sign up for ze Armee. It appears der vill be a medal & bounty for men of ze Armee who kill za most officers of da lil' Corporal's army ins a month....

Ooo und its appears der vill be a bounty placed ons each French Marshal's head for victory overs him ins battle....even zumm famous Frenchie General's like the "Peacock Knox" vill be placed uns der....."

More details to follow!

Sehr gut, Herr General!

We await the details with baited breath.

Unfortunately, the only thing that is killing me right now is work, which is where I am now at 10:30 PM on a Saturday night. It is Saturday isn't it? I have lost track. A little sleep wouldn't hurt either.

General Ludwig:

Perhaps these medals can be awarded to your allies-in-arms?

You see, Gen. Blackburn and myself have just taken command on the Prussian armies and have been called to defend Berlin and all Prussian territories against Napoleon's Grande Army -- led by two French Marechals, Bardon and Lambert, that are even now marching north towards a place called Jena. So, if we save Prussia, perhaps the King would like to extend such glory to his allies as well? Either way, FM Blackburn and I can assure all good Prussians that there homes and families are safe and that the Corsican will be defeated and forcilbly thrown into the darkest dungeon in Berlin until his ransom is paid by the French people.

In Your Service,

Mark - sorry to hear you are at work....at 10pm....on a Saturday... :(

Muddy - Your services to Prussia are appreciated. Like most Coalition Armies we have a medal exchange program for Allied Officers. The medals you can be awarded are listed here:

http://scott-ludwig.com/NWC/Prussia/medals.htm#Campaign

Once the battle is over and if you have a victory you need to file with your CiC. I am sure Mark Jones will be keeping an eye on things too.

The Rifleman Medal & French Marshal Bounty are for Prussian Officers only. I don't feel like administering one for the whole Allied side and it is meant to increase Prussian gaming....sorry...

Very well, General Ludwig. We will take these two French Marechals and keep the ransom for ourselves. Or perhaps secretly turn them over to one of your officers so that they can collect the bounty... at least then we will have earned something for defending Prussia.

My Dearest Muddy Field Marshall:

When General Blackburn and you complete your inevitable defeat of the two French Marechals opposing you, I believe you would be eliglble for the Prussian Jena-Auerstedt von 1806 Medaille. The final decision would rest with General Ludwig which he would consider if so requested by Lt. Generaal Bijl on your behalf. My understanding is that the medal was intended to be awarded for a victory in the Battle of Jena-Auerstadt, but my guess would be that a victory in the Jena-Auerstadt Campaign would also satisfy the requirements of award. As I said, General Ludwig would have the final say in this matter.

I do have to admit that a French Marshall Bounty Medal does have a nice ring to it.....

Yours in Service to our Army and King, [Salute]

General Knox:

Perhaps its time that I take you (and your horse) down a few notches. It you are not currently indisposed, then let us take the field.

Mark is correct you will qualify for the Jena-Auerstedt von 1806 Medaille.

To the Peacock - you are the most wanted with a reward of 200pts per Victory over you.....

To those Prussians hiding in the deep forest of East Prussia,

When Marechal Lambert and I seize Berlin, make a public spectacle of your queen, and march triumphantly through the Brandenburg gate, we may just grant ourselves a few of those precious medals (not to mention metals). In the meantime, know that your little hidey-hole in the woods will be incorporated in to the Grand Duchy of Warsaw upon the successful conclusion of the campaign.

Cheers!

Jeff who? Bardon who? Oh old windbag again! Another peacock showing his feathers. Really nice looking Jeff but quel dommage that they must get muddied on the fields of glory! Must take you a week to clean them after battle.

Sorry boys, I have Colin for the next open slot he has. I challenged him some time ago but he is cowering in some such scenarios he is playing. Once he finishes up some games and has time I plan on engaging him in Austerlitz. Show him how the Allied army should be handled.

Mareshal Bardon,
you are on my "still need to defeat" list. 8) My army is ready to intercept you before you reach Berlin. But you may pass the Brandenburger gate ... in chains.

Prussian scouts temporarily under the command of two Anglo Field Marshals have reported that following a series of loud squeals the two French Marechals Bardon and Lambert were osberved riding hell bent for leather back to France in search of new silk under thingy's. It seems they were surprised by a brace of Prussian Grouse and fearing that the Prussian Army was upon them they soiled themselves and fled, setting a pace their escorts could not match!
