Gentlemen Officers: I have encountered a personal tragedy tonight. It seems my good and faithful horse (i.e. my computer's hard drive) has met a sudden demise. I fear that it is also probably irrevocable. Now a throughly competent officer would have stored the genetics (i.e. routinely backed up all of the information on the drive) of such a valient steed, so that it could be recreated in a similar likeness. It so happens that I have not held to the practices of a thoroughly competent officer and am therefore consigned to walking, at least for a time. Being that we are living in the past anyway, such genetic science does not exist in our Napoleonic world. I am, for all intents and purposes, screwed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I should have a new hard drive delivered on Monday. Just be warned, I will be hitting some of you up for a lot of files (graphics mods, Hanoverian graphics, AAA records, etc.). Unless I can recover the data, which is not looking good at this point, I have lost everything. Andy, I know you will read this, please let Mike know that my training of him is going to be slightly delayed. He was offline until Saturday anyway due to a move, so I should not be too many days in arrears when he brings his system back online. Yes, Helga, please do keep the Jagermeister's coming. |

Some questions for you Mark: Prior to the hard drive crash did you: 1. Notice peacock feathers in the immediate vicinity. 2. Smell perfume in the room where your PC is located. 3. Notice a smell of garlic in the room. If the answer to any of the above is YES then you have been hit by the French Hussar virus. The FHV as it is known strikes Allied computers on a regular basis. It can be attributed to having allowed Frenchies to be near your computer with or without your permission. The FHV is dangerous and must be confined to your drive. Solution: take the drive and mail it to the North Pole. Santa will then make sure to drop it in the Barents Sea where it will do no harm again! ![]() I hope you have your brave steed up and running again soon! |

You know Bill, now that you mention it, all three of those things were present. Damn French, I should have known they were the source of my misery! ![]() I tried to get in contact with Santa to properly dispose of my infected hard drive. Turns out he was on vacation in the Bahamas for the off season so I gave the drive to a pair of fuzzy footed little fellows with the promise that they would cast it into the fires of Mordor. They said they had to go by there anyway. ![]() OK, a serious question now. Does anyone have the US version of the patch for NIR? I have reinstalled the game, but need to upgrade it. ![]() |

My heartfelt thanks to Scott Ludwig for providing a link to the NIR Patches! Also to my CO, Marco Bijl, for his valiant effort in this cause. My NIR game is now loaded, patched and ready for play. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
