Here you go, Vladmir. I was hoping to find the OB in George Nafziger's online collection but only could find the earlier OB for the Austrians with Frimont in command. From George Nafziger & Marco Gioannini's book on the 1813-14 campaign in Italy. See attached file. Note on my abbreviations: EHZG = Erzherzog 1.5 = 1 1/2 I used 1/2 for half when it was alone. IR - Infantry Regiment GM = Generalmajor FML = Feldmarschal-leutnant FM = Feldmarschal Karl = Carl (text used this version of spelling - I prefer the hard K) All of the above straight out of the text as is the spelling of the regiments in the OB except where noted. If you want to know the Infantry Regiment numbers let me know and I can upload a copy of the PDF document I use for the Austrian army. You can locate the regiment numbers by year in the doc. |

Hoch Der Brandenburgische Dragoner-Regiment ![]() Great! Thanks a lot, Bill! ![]() If I would get numbers of unit strengths too, my grenadiers put a huge barrel of vodka to your brave dragoons. ![]() Anyway, I have to check G.Nafziger site for that. My Neapolitan friend and the anchored opponent Maurizio Raiola and me - we have the crazy idea of a WhatIf? scenario for 1813 Italian Campaign but without any French troops - only the Italian and Neapolitan armies - all what they have under arms in 1813, i.e. "Hannibal ante portas!", "Forget your wine and women, citizen! To weapons! Fatherland in danger!" On this matter, I'm even going to raise by one point the grade of the Neapolitan troops. What do you think about? I guess, they would be against the perspective of the Austrians coming and finish their macaroni up. ![]() Thank you again! |

The Neapolitan troops were the worst in Europe but the best dressed! They took after their King - Murat. Probably E for the line and F for their other units. Guard would be C. But you do with them as you like. If you need help with the French & Neapolitan OBs let me know. Nafziger's book is packed with OB info based on date. |

Yes, of course. I collect infos from different sources bit by bit. Von Pivka, D.Smith, P.Haythornthwaite. S.Bowden gives OB of Eugene's Italian Army in his Napoleon's Grande Armee of 1813, but there are not all units of Italians and only few of Neapolitans. The good point: he gives unit strengths for 15.08.1813. Bill, may be you have at least the total Austrian numbers in Italy of 1813. G.Nafziger's site gives the Austrian OBs without any strength numbers. Indeed, that his book has no it too? In West Point Academy's Atlas of the Napoleonic Wars, I have found the number of 74,000 only. |

In their text on the Battle of the Mincio they do give strength figures by formation but not by unit. Very hard to get those. |

Mincio river - this is 02.08.1814 - it's too late. Is there something for the start of campaign - August-September of 1813? If they give even total numbers for a brigade or division, I can calculate an average number for Btn / Sqn strength. I have checked Amazon.com. "The Defence of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Northern Italy" has a mad cost. Why? |

Was not saying that Mincio happened in November. Was just relating that the text only gives general numbers and not specific to a unit. Not sure why the book costs so much. I paid a pretty penny for mine but am glad I did as I will need it for future work. |
