The cavalry thread is even better! I recently ended up with the earlier GUI for LG for a while and am impressed, as a result, at the improvement into the current version. Really has received a tremendous amount of support. Now the 3D is surging ahead, JMM has really earned kudos for a superb game. It's a long way beyond my early enthusiasm. |

When he gets HW1 right I may consider it. I cannot see putting out bucks for a game that still is not working right. Is this new engine a complete rewrite? Frankly I know that programmers tend to put out games that are "just off the bench" but John Tiller has spoiled me for game engines. His are rock solid and RARELY crash on my system. I play Field of Glory and that is about it. Decision Games computer version of War in Europe seems to work ok. For me the jury is still out on the game. I was hoping by now to hear that ALL of the major bugs have been solved but until they are I will hold off on buying it. I would prefer to see him spend his time getting his first product "right" before I consider getting the new one. |

We're a bit beyond all those issues, Bill. You've made it abundantly clear elsewhere you won't be buying the game for a variety of reasons. Good choice for you. Meanwhile I'll be very happily enjoying its continued development. I am also enjoying the development of the multilingual community around it. Of course, it'd be nice to see NWC open to that. I also await with anticipation the forthcoming campaign system(s) that will link in with the game (there is already a link-in with Empires in Arms being played by The General's HQ mob in Australia). I think the development of 1:1 modelling really ratches up the eye-candy to equal the superb engine that JMM has developed and continues to refine. Bless his little cotton socks! |

Quote: I would prefer to see him spend his time getting his first product "right" before I consider getting the new one. maybe i expressed it wrong srry, HistwarII is not a new game or addon or etc. it is just to express the new 1:1 scale system and its only the name for the version4a thats all. I know lots of ppl who get prepared to buy the game after 1:1 scale be ready but course lets first see the demo. Yes TGHQ running the danube campaign now, on the other hand NBC working on the Pennisular campaign for Histwar too... will be ready soon hopefully. |

Where do I say I will NEVER buy the game? You cannot find that on this forum. And 1:1 scale sounds like you command EACH soldier individually. Rustem was excited about the release and I like that. My apologies for casting any doubt on his enthusiasm. He writes in English better than I do in his language that is for sure! ![]() So if I post something about a new product (AGEOD, Matrix, etc) and I am super hyped about it and you are not does that mean that you should stay in your corner and not cast doubt on my parade? You guys kill me with this mentality. Why not look at it from the other angle sometime? So if I am hyped about HPS/JTS products then folks should only say something ONCE negative about it and shut their traps? C'mon! Be realistic. Like that has ALWAYS been the case. I have been playing wargames since age 14 (or earlier ...). I am all for the Napoleonic era having a great game. I have said this before and will say it again: I do not have the funds currently to buy Histwar:LG but if the game is corrected and I can round up the dollars then count me in. I am a bit skeptical about the interface for my eyes but if John Corbin, who has awful vision, can put up with the HPS interface then hey, I can try and look at (what I consider) a less than crisp HW:LG GUI too. Go HW:LG and I hope that the fixes that many of us would like to see are out SOON! Spend more time on that and less on the extras. Enjoy guys (but remember, any product put up here is open for criticism or comment no matter how many times folks have expressed their opinion). |
