Gentleman, including the French, While I am waiting for a new PC to arrive, I would appreciate any opinions of the HPS games Wagram and Jena-Auerstaedt. I have the other 4 HPS games and was wondering if these two are well played and deserve to be in my library? It is not that I am the best player but enjoy a variety of games. Opinions would be appreciated from both sides of the conflict. Thanks for your time, my best |

I don't have Wagram (yet) but Jena-Auerstaedt is a really good game with some big map battles where with lots of scope for manoeuvre. Well worth having in your collection. |

Mssr. Barlow: As between the two, I would recommend Jena since it introduced a number of improvements which have yet to be "patched" in Wagram: Units in Line & Cav can recover from disorder while in covered terrain; Sqd organization for cav; Reduced stacking limts; 10 min turns. I also find it to be a highly enjoyable campaign  . A Prussian that knows how to handle cavalry has a real chance for victory in the large, "campaign" scenarios.Regards, Paco |

FM Blackburn and myself are presently taking on Marechals Bardon and Lambert in Jena's 'The Russians are Coming' scenario -- 500 turns. We've been marching for an entire day (10-min turns) and the armies are have not yet found each other. Lots of room for maneuver and lots of terrain to get lost in. We will find the elusive Marechals soon enough though... |

Updates to the system are coming so I would not base your purchase on that point. I predict that all of my titles will be updated by the end of the year at the latest. Wagram is actually next on my list followed by Jena. I have some files for Eckmuhl as well to correct but Wagram will have large improvements in the morale values (lower NOT higher) and will add in a different naming of the regiments - just like Eckmuhl now has. Look for which campaign interests you more. Wagram has a linking campaign file that will allow you to play the entire 1809 campaign from Bavaria to Vienna and beyond. You must own Eckmuhl in order to play this one. Jena has the most extensive campaign file I ever built. While Eckmuhl's was very large as well (over 150 scenarios for the campaign I think), Jena's uses over 35 maps I believe and the game offers over 400 scenarios. A real monster campaign and title for sure. I am adding in the Austrians as a bonus in the next update. The icons were there in the game as I wanted to get all of the artwork done for Austerlitz (as well as Eylau) but the comment was "Joe gets better with each title." And he DID! Austerlitz artwork is better than Jena's. So those icons will get used in Jena as I add in a bonus set of scenarios that offer the Austrians coming to the aid of the Prussians. The idea being that Napoleon did NOT invade Moravia, Bavaria and Austria in 1805 and in marching on Prussia violated the neutrality of one of the Austrian "allies" near the Rhine. I cannot remember which prince-ling I was thinking of naming but it was a small region. |

Thank you all for the opinions and info. I have decided to add both to my game library. Now if I could just understand what in the world to do with the horses. hehehe |

I'm sure that would make me and the horses happy! |

Dear Field Marshall Nelms, Only a couple???? With the heat index above 100 here in Indiana, a couple would be gone in record time. Oh wait, you meant a couple of wagons....................................much better! |
