Congratulations to one & all!

I must confess some measure of mystification
as to how my name comes to appear on this roll
but I cannot but believe that my companions here
have justly earned their elevated status
&
I shall endeavor to better earn my place among such noble warriors.
SKOAL!

Congratulations.

To those I have had the privilege to face in battle, I raise my glass, flask, keg, bottle, etc. and salute you as honored and worthy adversaries.

To those, I have not, I look forward to seeing you on the field of honor at some point.

Cheers!

Congratulations Gentlemen. A round of drinks on me.

Did I ever tell you about the time I earned my Waterloo Medal? Well, it rained all the previous night and the field was quite muddy at daybreak...

Please, don't encourage him. :(

Every story goes something like this:
"It had rained much of the day though the weather slowed the French advance I soon found myself in the thick of the action. Roundshot fell all about me, and I soon found myself covered in mud..... "

"Later in the day, having trudged through the mud soaked field for hours that seemed like days and found myself wearing much of it, ...."

"Were it not for my trusted steed, a valiant white charger, though after a days hard fighting, one would never guess such a fine animal lay beneath the caked mud exterior..."

Perhaps if you ply him with enough drink, he'll make this one short and we can all go back to what we were doing.

Cheers!

Well, at least there seems to be a certain consistency in the telling of the tale by our redoubtable Field Marshall. Not that I would doubt his word in any case. British Field Marshall's always speak the truth.

I have had the privilege of visiting the field of Waterloo only once in my life. It had rained just the day before and our shoes were literally caked with that very mud. We refered to it as "The Sacred Mud of Waterloo". I, for one, believe every word of Sir Muddy's fine story, although I was personally spared the whole round shot incident and had not thought to actually bring my horse. He would have been a bit difficult to fit on the plane in any case. :D  :P

Congratulations to my fellow warriors! It is an honorable duty to fight side by side with such brave men as you are, Gentlemen!

Please allow me to raise the glass for a salute to our courageous enemies who dare to meet us on the battlefield. My respect for the brave Frenchmen as they dont fear to fight eye to eye against the members of the glorious Anglo-Allied army.

And I will raise my glass a second time: Gentlemen, for King and Country!
