Allez Les Blues! France give England payback for Waterloo in the rugby world cup. England on flight home this morning. Sad for them but that is the fortunes of war with the oval ball. Haha Bill. Yes Christopher Plummer did a wonderful job in Waterloo. I have it on DVD. I wish there were more movies like that. Some wonderful acting Steiger as N was excellent as well. |

This month is Leipzig month. If only someone would do a movie, a GOOD movie on the battle. I would be willing to watch a movie the length of two long movies to see it all. I think that 5 hours would do it justice. Or make it a 3 part mini-series. We just have to "wean" people away from the dumb action thriller genre and get them to watch something with real culture! I often wonder why if Gettysburg was so popular as a movie that someone has not done one on Shiloh. I am trying to think of the two guys I would have cast as Grant and Sherman. And there were gals in the area - could add in the old love interest (but keeping it clean please) to grab the gals attention. (please - do not cast Angelina Jolie in a part ...) Even when Hollywood gets it right they usually have some error in it but a good movie on Shiloh would be worth the effort. Lots of nationalism floating around these days ... |
