From Charlemagne to the present time,
France has always shown the way
.

Now we see Europe engulfed in war. A war not of France’s making. The war is brought upon us by those who fear the greatness of France. Who fear the ideals France stands for. Ideals such as Liberty, equality and justice for all.

France does not want war but when war is thrust upon us, we fight and we fight to win.

Our army has the best leaders, the best soldiers and the best spirit.

Join France and help bring peace and liberty to all of Europe.

Ah, such inspiring words, a clarion call to the defenders of liberty and la patrie.

Vive la France!

Ah, so very lucky for you Frenchies that I seem to have misplaced my Hanoverian Rodent Warrior. He rather humorously redirected your recruitment attepts the last time Marechal Corbin had the temerity to post. Yes, I can still see the lower portion of the image which has been omitted. Your beloved Emperor is riding a rocking horse and pitifully pleading to be allowed to join the Anglo-Allied Army.

I, for one, certainly do miss the entertaining antics of "The Rat".

And, by the way, you forgot to complete the mantra as it was taught to me by Old Nappy when I was in the service of Westphalia. In his words, the mantra goes like this:

Vive la France, Vive la Empereur, Vive la Moi !

And historically speaking, Marechal Corbin might actually be correct in his claim that this war is really not of Old Boney's making. The way I heard the story told is that he tripped during the coronation ceremony and stumbled into the crown. Certainly not that he placed it upon his own, bulbous head. It is bound to all be just a big misunderstanding. Isn't it?

 Clarion call? Mark and Scott, do you hear the birds? What is this, Lord of the Rings "The Eagles are coming!"

I think that these Frenchies must have birds on the brain!

Sorry, Herr Peters, you had your chance.

Now, like the rest of your fellow coalition partners, you are left to wallow in the muck and mire that is your envy. Given the speed with which our armies travel the continent, it is understanding that, to you, our eagles appear to fly. It is the spirit of liberté, egalité et fraternité that animates the Grande Armée, something I fear that you and your reactionary cohorts can not fathom.

Envy? That you have infantry regiments with numbers and no names? No heritage, just numbers? Sounds like Secret Agent Man or Communism!

So what is your number Herr Bardon? 3825222?

"Citizen 3825222 please step forward! Oh excuse me, Baron 3825222! Sorry about that! With the way that Herr Corsican hands out Barons and Dukes and Princes he must have 221 helpers to keep track of them all!"

Nothing about the French army to envy. Oh yes, their Emperor's carriage is the fastest ... to run from a battlefield that is after he loses!

Which reminds me of a song that one of your deserters was singing the other day:

(Chorus)
Oh, yes, they call him the Corses!
Boogity, Boogity
Fastest thing on Four Horses
Boogity, Boogity
He's just a runnin' for his life
Cause he's just lost the strife
He's gotta give up his throne!

Oh, yes, they call him the Corses!
Look at that, look at that
He likes to show off his horses!
Look at that, look at that
If there's a battle that's been lost
Then he becomes a ghost!
Invitin' public critique

(Reporter):
This is your action news reporter once again, and we're here at Waterloo. Pardon me, sir, did you see what happened?

(Witness):
Yeah, I did. I was out tryin' to get my chickens out of the road, he just appeared
out of nowhere. Come streakin' around the corner there, his horses looking ornery as ever.
I tried to warn my chicks but it was too late. Chicken soup tonight. They were run right over!

(Chorus)
He ain't helpful, Boogity, Boogity
He ain't right, Boogity, Boogity
He's just in the mood to run from a fight!

Oh, yes, they call him the Corses
Boogity, Boogity
He likes to take to them thar horses.
Boogity, Boogity
He's always runnin' from the fight
Cuz a cage just don't seem right
Guess you could call him a freak!

I see the truth in Marechal Corbin's words. I shall join France and help bring peace and liberty to all of Europe! Oh, wait, I already did!

Gentlemen, you all do realize that in some cultures a man's greatness is measured by who his enemies are. From the list of our Emperor's enemies, I must conclude there is non greater than he!

Vive l'France!
Vive l'Empereur!

Hi Matt, you are in the Dragoons I note. I am thinking - it would be fun to have a "Dragoon Challenge" - maybe an invite to all of the members that command a Dragoon regiment to play in a small tournament. Or maybe a MP game. If you find this of interest let me know.

Generalmajor Bill Herzog Peters von Dennewitz,

I am interested in such a tournament, however, for the time being, I am still assigned to the Ecole Militaire. Although I am officially assigned to the Dragoons, I must finish my training before I am allowed to join them. :( It may be a little while before this happens since I was sent back to the freshmen class for completely inraging my instructors with my idiotic leadership. Please do not wait for me, I'll catch up one of these days.

Oh nothing is set in stone. Just a thought. I am sure that by the time you finish (how many years? :P ) we will still be kicking this idea around.

But what are those tiny, ragged, smelly, pathetic creatures the French Dragoons are riding? Certainly not horses! Are they some sort of ungulates? Must be as they are eating the ragged pieces of uniform pieces these French cavalry impersonators are wearing. The Scots Greys are laughing so hard the are rolling off their mounts who are unquestionably the finest horse flesh in all Europe.

They are "Instant Horses." The latest thing in dehydrated weaponry, just add water and "puff" a cavalry ready horse appears. We have been experiencing a water shortage as of late which explains their size. They should prove most useful during the rainy season when the grow to elephant size! :P
