A Hanoverian Staff Officer sits quietly in his seat while he listens to the detailed Army Report being given by his commanding officer, Generaal Bijl. When his commader finishes and retakes his own seat, the Hanoverian Colonel stands and holds aloft a small shot glass of amber liquid.
"Mein Heeren! My commander has requested that I make a special toast today. Whereas his Dutch is better than my English, he does not speak German at all. A toast to my fine German comrade, Lieutenant Bell, for his newest promotion and the splendid victory over a French Lt. Colonel that has gained him this honor!"
"Ihre Siege können erhöhen Ihre Feinde lernen, Ihre Präsenz auf dem Gebiet zu fliehen!"
Downing the contents of the shot glass in one gulp, the Hanoverian officer quips, "What would the English ever do without the loyal Germans who serve their King?"
