While there may be an error or two in the weather data values players should take some time to study the weather PDT file lines for each day or for one day scenarios just the day of the battle. I will note one thing here though: there are times for two day battles where Light Rain will also act like Heavy Rain. The idea being that the accumulated moisture prohibits any firing of muskets. I will do my best to add in text to the description but there is no way I am going to write a novel in all of the descriptions to cover absolutely everything that is out of the ordinary. In the end the players need to study the information they have at hand and make their strategy based on this. I never mind answering questions on whether something is incorrect but hey, if it says that your corps will not release until 8am then make a note of it. Do not come complaining to us because you didn't do your homework. If you do not like that I fixed a formation well all i can say is copy the file and change it in your version. If the formation is fixed and getting mobbed that IS an issue. But not that you wanted total control over your units and wanted to move them 400 hexes somewhere else. Note: I DO wish that we had a better way to view the PDT file info. The "in game" dialog window does leave much to be desired in that it cuts off the text and causes it to wrap to the next line. If I could program in Java or Visual Basic I would write a program that allows you to pick any of the PDT files and see them in a nice GUI interface. Maybe something I could tinker with if I could afford the MS VB program. Dominik D. and I have discussed him putting a PDT file editor out. Maybe a Viewer is just as important ... |

Dear Bill: Please accept my official request that you modify the weather conditions to identify all of my opponent's units. In those hexes, I would like for it to always be Heavy Rain with lots and lots of Mud. No musket or artillery fire can be conducted and movement costs are 200% of normal. In addition, I would like it to be Sunny and Dry in all of the hexes that my units occupy and/or traverse. All fire and movement values for my units should recieve a +25% bonus because of the exceptional boost to their morale engendered by watching their enemies flounder about. Also, never being shot at would greatly improve the disposition of my men. This weather condition, which I will refer to as Hex Specific Weather, needs to move around the map with all units as they traverse from hex to hex. Oh, one more thing, if you could label all enemy units as having 'No Bayonets', that would be appreciated as well. I suppose you could give them a +10% benefit for mud wrestling if they ever happen to close due to the desperation with which they would exhibit in hand to hand combat in light of their other restrictions. Just a passing thought for your kind consideration. Sincerely, Mark ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Huh? You mean that politicians aren't honest! ![]() ![]() ![]() OK, Bill, I thought of one more request. When I am playing Colin, I want random lightning strikes on all of his units. They need to be frequent and use the same fire table as Old Guard 12 Pounders at a range of 1! I suggest a +25% chance that one would hit Nappy B right between the eyes. After all, an ego like that would be hard to miss. ![]() ![]() ![]() Hey, if you actually implent all of this, I might have a chance of holding that wily Frenchman to a Draw. Of course that still wouldn't win me Scott's pretty blue medal.... Maybe Scott would be willing to negotiate. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I would like the weather such that there could be a thunderstorm at Ligny, but not at Quatre Bras at the same time. Weather should not be Global over a large map. Yes, I can fantasize, too... |

I am still trying to get the program to make toast for me let alone have it allow for different weather on the large maps we have. Toast comes first, Warren. Its high only list of updates for John to work in ... ![]() |

Yes, Jim, the Command Menu will allow you to choose between marmalade, butter or honey. The "mid-afternoon tea" was something that our brothers across the pond would like I suspect. |
